We are delighted to invite you to the 21st International CINet Conference! 

The conference should have been held in Milan. However, Corona still stands in the way of meeting physically. After ample consideration, the CINet board together with the local organizing committee has therefore decided to go virtual, still hosted by Politecnico di Milano.

The main theme of this year, “Practicing Continuous Innovation in Digital Ecosystem”, as well as the special tracks we have organized are even more relevant in the current day and age. We hope that the discussions on these topics may help in identifying and highlighting strategies, models, theories and practices that may help us all in fostering innovation and having an impact in the “new normal” emerging after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Making the conference as interactive and stimulating as possible in a virtual environment, has some implications, including:

• Program. We do not know yet what the program will look like exactly, but count on three key note addresses, several special tracks and one or even more special sessions, in addition to regular paper presentations. See the Call for Papers tab for further details.
• Discussion. Each paper will be assigned a discussant to stimulate interaction and discussion.
• Communication channel. The final decision still has to be made but we are likely to use Microsoft Teams, the most widely used platform.
• Ease of navigation. The program will include links to the sessions. Just click, and you are in. Simple instructions plus a short video will be available at least one week before the conference.
• Timing of adjacent events. The PhD Workshop is usually held on the Friday and Saturday before the conference, and the Young Academics Workshop on the Sunday prior to the conference. We reckon that most participants will not be keen to spend part of their weekend on these events. The PhD Workshop will now be held on Thursday-Friday 17-18 September, while the Young Academics Workshop will take place on Friday 18 September. The Program tab provides further details .

Finally, we cannot avoid charging conference fees, but they are considerably lower compared to having a physical meeting. See the Registration tab for further details.
We will do our very best to make the conference and the workshops as exciting as possible and am sure we will succeed with your involvement and engagement.
