The invited keynote speakers of the conference will be Pierpaolo Andriani and Maria Savona. In addition, Silvano Cincotti will take part in the round table discussion. Each speaker will bring their own perspective on the conference theme.

Pierpaolo Andriani earned his BA/MSc in physics and began his career in industrial R&D in Italy, where he managed European projects in the laser industry. He later moved into academia and completed his PhD in social sciences at Durham University (UK). His research focuses on how complexity and evolutionary theory shape innovation, and has been published in leading journals such as Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, Long Range Planning and Complexity. He is currently Professor of Complexity and Innovation Management at KEDGE Business School.

Maria Savona has been Professor of Economics of Innovation at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex, since 2015. Since 2021, she has also been part-time Professor of Applied Economics in the Department of Economics and Finance at LUISS University in Rome. She previously held academic posts at the University of Cambridge and the Universities of Strasbourg and Lille 1.
Her research spans the economics of innovation, the effects of technological change on employment and wage inequality, and structural change in the sectoral composition of economies, including the rise of global value chains in services. It also addresses the economics and policy of innovation in services, barriers to innovation, and innovation failure, and more recently has extended to the governance of data and policies for redistributing data value.
Silvano Cincotti is Professor of Economics and Management at the University of Genoa.
