CIYA - CINet Young Academics

Being an early-stage academic offers many interesting challenges and responsibilities. For some of them, you have already developed the necessary expertise; others require you to gain new competences. This is an exciting but also very challenging time in your research career, where you transition towards becoming an experienced researcher and teacher. Focusing on early-stage academics, CYIA (CINet Young Academics) helps you to deal better with this transition.

Run by a group of early-stage and more experienced scholars, CIYA is a network-within-a-network, which provides a forum for discussing challenging issues for early-stage academics, learning about relevant topics, and establishing research activities across and amongst young members of CINet. CIYA is a collaborative stepping-stone in the direction of becoming an excellent academic.

Typical CIYA topics include:

  • Supervising MSc and PhD students 
  • Teaching innovation to MSc and MBA students 
  • Developing theoretically rigorous and managerially relevant research on innovation management 
  • Writing and reviewing scientific articles 
  • Developing your career – managing your way through academia
