The history of CINet

CINet has evolved over more than three decades in response to changes in research, practice, and society:

• 1994: Founded as EuroCINet, a European Continuous Improvement Network under the EU EUREKA program.
• 1999: Reframed as CINet, emphasizing Continuous Innovation and adopting a global outlook.
• 2000-2025: Expanded international membership and established a strong community around creativity, learning, and innovation management.
• 2026: Renamed Creativity and Innovation Management Network to reflect the central role of creativity and innovation in addressing organizational and societal grand challenges

Today, CINet remains a global network open to new members and new ideas from around the world.

The research vision of the CINet provides more detail on the products and processes of the network. A paper entitled Lessons from and for a Community of Practice by Harry Boer and Jeannette Visser-Groeneveld (presented at the 8th Annual Conference in Gothenburg) also provides some interesting historical details.

In view of the current membership of the CINet, the adjective 'global' implies that the network is open to new membership from all over the world. If you are interested in joining please contact us!
